Diversified Tree Company LLC — also filed as Diversified Tree Service LLC — is an owner-operated, Black-owned, family-focused arborist team working out of a yard at 6646 Paris Ave SE in south Grand Rapids. President Jason E. Lewis has been running this crew for more than a decade, backed by 25+ years of combined crew experience.
When you call, you get Jason. He's the man who walks the property, writes the estimate, sets the rigging, and answers for the job after the chipper pulls away. There's no call center between you and the person cutting, no commissioned salesperson, and no pressure to take down a tree that doesn't need to come down. If the honest answer is "prune it and check it again in two years," that's the answer you'll get.
The work we're known for is the work that needs a plan first: storm-torn oaks hanging over rooflines, century maples too close to the house, controlled dismantling with advanced rigging where nothing is allowed to free-fall. We serve both residential and commercial properties, and every removal gets a site and rigging plan before the first cut. Sections are rigged, lowered, and landed exactly where the plan says.
Then there's the part a lot of outfits skip. Limbs chipped, wood hauled or stacked where you want it, lawn raked, driveway blown clean. Cleanup isn't an add-on line item — the job isn't finished until the site looks better than we found it.
Nine services, one crew
We do nine things, and we do them with our own people and our own equipment — including the seasonal work that keeps us on your street year-round.
- Tree Removal — hazardous, diseased, dead, or oversized trees, including large removals tight to structures using rigging and controlled dismantling.
- Tree Trimming & Pruning — canopy health, storm-risk reduction, and clearance from rooflines and power lines with precision cuts.
- Stump Grinding — ground below grade, chips hauled, the spot left replant-ready with no tripping hazard and no pest habitat.
- Emergency Tree Service — fallen trees, blocked driveways, and roof-threatening limbs, with documentation for insurance claims.
- Lot Clearing — full-lot or partial clearing for construction, expansion, or overgrowth, with brush and debris responsibly disposed of.
- Bracing & Cabling — structural support that preserves valuable, split-prone trees instead of removing them.
- Firewood — seasoned hardwood, picked up at our Paris Ave yard or delivered. Call for current stock and pricing.
- Snow Plowing — seasonal residential and commercial plowing for driveways, lots, and walkways.
- Curbside Leaf Pickup — rake it to the curb in loose piles and we collect and haul it away.
Jason answers the phone at 3 a.m.
We're open Monday through Sunday, 24 hours a day, and that isn't marketing language. Storms in West Michigan don't wait for business hours, so the phone gets answered at 3 a.m. on Christmas. Storm response is a core service here, not an upsell tacked onto a bad night.
From the Paris Ave SE yard, most of the metro is within about 20 minutes in normal conditions. We work in 14 communities: Grand Rapids, Wyoming, Grandville, Byron Center, Caledonia, Moline, Jenison, Hudsonville, Dorr, Ada, Wayland, Alto, Marne, and Comstock Park.
