Diversified Tree Company LLC is an owner-operated, Black-owned, family-focused arborist team working out of a yard on Paris Avenue in south Grand Rapids — about twenty minutes from most Wyoming addresses in normal conditions. Jason Lewis runs the crew, quotes the work himself, and is usually the one standing under the tree deciding how it comes down. Ten-plus years in business, 25+ years of combined crew experience, and a habit of taking the jobs that make homeowners nervous: storm-torn oaks over rooflines, century maples hemmed in by a garage and a power drop.
Flood-plain trees grow fast and fail fast
Wyoming sits on the Grand River and Buck Creek, and the trees tell you that. River-bottom species — cottonwood, willow, box elder — put on height fast and give up fast, too. Cottonwoods in particular start shedding enormous limbs once they pass maturity, and they rarely give much warning before they do it. The older neighborhoods run to big silver maples, which split at tight unions, and there are spruce windbreaks holding wind on the higher ground.
If you've got something leaning toward the house or dropping deadwood on the driveway, an inspection sorts it into one of three buckets: it comes out, it gets a cleanout prune, or it's honestly fine for another few years. We'll tell you which — including when the answer is leave it alone. If the tree is valuable but split-prone, bracing and cabling is often the better call than a removal.

Standard grinding goes 6 to 12 inches below grade — enough depth to lay sod or seed over — and deeper if you ask. And the wood is yours if you want it: we'll buck the trunk to firewood length and stack it where you point, at no extra charge, or haul the whole thing off. Residential and commercial work both.

Monday through Sunday, open 24 hours. That isn't a voicemail box with an after-hours greeting — storm response is a core part of what this company does, not an upsell tacked onto the invoice. Permits, insurance and what happens to the stump
Most of the questions we get in Wyoming come down to paperwork and cleanup. Trees on your own property generally don't need a permit, but street trees in the right-of-way do, and some neighborhoods add their own rules — we run that check as part of the estimate so nobody gets a surprise letter. On insurance: if a storm dropped a tree onto a structure, removal from the structure is usually covered, and we document the scene for the adjuster. A standing tree you'd simply rather not have anymore is typically on you.
