Diversified Tree Company LLC is an owner-operated, Black-owned, family-focused arborist team working out of a yard on Paris Avenue in south Grand Rapids — about fourteen minutes from the village of Caledonia down M-37. Jason Lewis runs the crew, writes the estimates and climbs the hard ones himself. Ten-plus years in business, 25+ years of combined crew experience, and a habit of telling homeowners the truth about a tree even when the truth costs us the job.
Oak country from the village out to Duncan Lake
Caledonia runs from the village center out through lake country — Duncan Lake, Emmons Lake, Campau Lake — and across some of the best oak ground in the county. The big bur and red oaks on those gravel ridges are magnificent trees, and they deserve better than a bargain crew with a bucket truck and a chainsaw.
Oak country comes with an oak rule: to keep oak wilt out, oaks get pruned in dormancy, not in July. We schedule oak work accordingly and we will tell you plainly when a job should wait for winter. Storm-damaged oaks are the exception — our emergency crew treats those immediately and seals the cuts as we go.
Between the township's newer subdivisions and its horse properties, we also stay busy with removals, stump grinding and windbreak work. Same crew, same standards, whether it's a lakefront leaner over a boathouse or a fence line along a paddock.

- Tree Removal — safe removal of hazardous, diseased, dead or oversized trees, including large removals near structures using rigging and controlled lowering.
- Tree Trimming & Pruning — canopy health, storm-risk reduction and clearance from rooflines and power lines, with precision cuts that keep valuable trees valuable.
- Stump Grinding — ground 6 to 12 inches below grade, chips hauled or backfilled, the spot left replant-ready with no tripping hazard and no pest habitat.
- Emergency Tree Service — storm response for fallen trees, blocked driveways and roof-threatening limbs, with documentation for insurance claims.
- Lot Clearing — full-lot or partial clearing for construction, expansion or overgrowth; brush, trees and debris responsibly disposed of.
- Bracing & Cabling — structural support systems that preserve split-prone trees instead of removing them.
- Firewood — seasoned hardwood, pickup at the Paris Ave yard or delivered. Call for current stock and pricing.
- Snow Plowing — seasonal residential and commercial plowing; driveways, lots and walkways cleared all winter.
- Curbside Leaf Pickup — rake to the curb in loose piles and we collect and haul it away.
Jason answers the phone at 3 a.m.
We're open 24 hours a day, Monday through Sunday, and that isn't a marketing line — the phone gets answered at three in the morning on Christmas. Storm response is a core service here, not an upsell. From the Paris Ave SE yard, most of the metro is inside twenty minutes in normal conditions, and most Caledonia addresses are well within that.
