Jason Lewis runs the saw, not just the office
Diversified Tree Company LLC is an owner-operated, Black-owned, family-focused arborist team working out of a yard on Paris Avenue in south Grand Rapids. Jason Lewis has spent more than ten years on the jobs that make property managers nervous — storm-torn oaks hanging over a roofline, century maples leaning toward a loading dock, a limb resting on a service drop above a parking lot. He shows up for the estimate and he's there when the ropes go up. Between the crew there's 25+ years of combined experience, which is what it takes to dismantle big wood over a building that has to open again on Monday.
Commercial work has a different clock than residential. Tenants need their entrances, customers need their stalls, and contractors need the lot cleared before the excavator arrives. We plan the drop zones, stage the chipper where it won't block traffic, and sequence the cuts so the site keeps working around us. Apartment complexes, churches, retail plazas, industrial yards, HOAs, restaurants, schools and construction sites all get the same approach: rigging and controlled dismantling rather than luck.

- Lot Clearing — full-lot and partial clearing for construction, expansion or overgrowth, with brush, trees and debris responsibly disposed.
- Bracing & Cabling — structural support systems that preserve valuable, split-prone trees instead of removing them.

Selective clearing is our default on commercial lots. We flag the keeps together before anything starts and protect their root zones from equipment compaction, so the mature shade you paid a landscape architect for is still standing when the building goes up.
Jason answers the phone at 3 a.m.
The phone is answered Monday through Sunday, 24 hours a day — at 3 a.m., on Christmas, during the storm and not just after it. Storm response is a core service here, not an upsell. From the Paris Ave SE yard most of the metro is inside 20 minutes in normal conditions, which matters when a maple is across your tenant parking and the first shift starts at six. We document the damage for insurance adjusters as we go.
When we say 24/7, we mean the call gets picked up. If the situation isn't an emergency, you'll still hear back within one business day.
