We don't spray — here's what we do instead
Let's be straight with you: we are not a pesticide company. We don't sell injections, soil drenches or spray programs, and we won't pretend a treatment plan is on our truck when it isn't. If a certified applicator is what your tree needs, we'll tell you that during the estimate rather than sell you something else.
What we do handle is everything that comes after the bugs — the physical condition of the tree and the risk it now poses to your house, your car and the people underneath it. Borers hollow out a trunk. Carpenter ants follow the rot. A canopy thins out one season and a limb lets go the next. That's structural work, and it's what this crew does all day.
- Removal of hazardous, diseased, dead or oversized trees — including large removals near structures, using rigging and controlled lowering
- Trimming and pruning to take out dead and declining wood, reduce storm risk, and pull the canopy back off rooflines and power lines
- Bracing and cabling to support a valuable, split-prone tree instead of removing it
- Stump grinding — ground 6 to 12 inches below grade, chips backfilled, so you're not leaving a rotting stump as pest habitat
- Lot clearing where a stand of trees has gone too far to save, with selective clearing as our default so the keepers stay

An insect-weakened tree usually announces itself in a storm, at a bad hour. The phone here is answered Monday through Sunday, 24 hours — including 3 a.m. on Christmas. Storm response is a core service, not an upsell, and we document the work for insurance claims. From the Paris Ave SE yard, most of the metro is within about 20 minutes in normal conditions.

Pruning windows, oak wilt and root zones
Timing matters more than most homeowners expect. In Michigan, late winter — February and March — is the right window for most species, and oaks should only be pruned in dormancybecause fresh cuts in the growing season invite oak wilt. We won't top a tree, either: topping creates weakly-attached regrowth that fails in the next storm and shortens the life of the tree you were trying to save.
